Week 13 and 14

Weeks 13 and 14. Did someone say unlucky 13? Jason (moi) has begun his stint as Mr. Mom. Look out Michael Keaton. Really though, it isn't as horrible as I thought it would be. My travails are that Simon will not take a bottle so I have to just let him play with the nipple (on the bottle -mine are teeny tiny [awkwardly so]) until the breast milk drips into his mouth. It's quite similar to feeding a gerbil though I don't have to chase him down the Habi-trail to get him to the cedar chips where the food is. Second is that since he is not eating his tiny stomach is empty and so his naps are very short leaving me only time to wash a dish, make the bed, clip coupons, sew the hem on Ash's skirts, dust, arrange my sock drawer, brush my right top teeth (i could go on but won't). He and I are getting along and finding common interest. It's probablty a bit strange for him to wake up and Mommy's gone. I have found myself several times rationalizing why he can't have his meltdown outside (in the backyard, in the cellar, on the front porch) while I'm inside. We go for walks and play and have storytime. I meet with the other mommy's and the 3-6 month olds on Tuesday...
Ash is doing great. It was hard at first but is getting easier she says. With all the bad times (meltdowns) I can understand perfectly how attached she could have grown to this little butternut of ours. I give her kudos and Snickers for the job she's done. If I could fill her shoes even a little (not sure with what) I'll be proud.
As for the pics: Uncle Ray and Kevin got the little caped crusader a onsie in which to fight crime. Simon says it rides when he rappels down the sides of buildings with his utility belt but loves it.
Ash and Simon looking fabulous at my and Rich's 38th / 48th birthday party.
Naked boy. He's got my ass! and the tuft of hair to go with it.
Auntie Meredith came to visit and they got along wonderfully. Both went x-country skiing for the firt time. Simon at 3 months, Meredith at 336 months.
And finally the group of us at The Bankseses cabin in Plain where we spent a wonderful weekend of skiing, drinking, eating, gaming, eating and drinking. God bless the Bankseses. Chris strapped Simon to his front and hit the trails. Both did great.
Okay, a bit long but that's two weeks. I'll try to keep up in the future. Ciao!
