2 Months

Hard to believe we've already hit 2 months and are into Week 9 of Simon's exciting little life. He had his shots on Friday and was, understandably, pretty grumpy for a day or so (5 shots in the leg!). Simon weighed 12 pounds, 10 ounces and is 23 inches long. The real kicker though is that his doctor thinks he might be TEETHING already. From what I read, that is very rare this young, but possible. He's drooling a lot, always putting his hands in his mouth and shoving mine in there too, you can feel some raising on his lower gums, and now he loves it when I let him bite down on my finger.

Dear God, I'm just now getting the hang of breastfeeding--one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do--please don't bring biting on my boobies another challenge anytime soon. thanks.

Clearly, Simon has got the pout down. He loves to snuggle and suck on his little bear blankie that Grandma Shary sent. He's also finding his voice so most often cries are now replaced with yells, sometimes they are happy, sometimes not.

There is nothing quiet about this kid. I went to the mommy movie this week and about 6 of us were sitting next to each other nursing our babies. All the babes are just eating nice and quietly or if they are crying it's this very calm, mild "excuse me, could you please feed me when you get a sec" cry. Then there's Simon, snorting, grunting and moaning his way through the movie snack. He had everyone laughing at or with him. He's so special. :-)

Jason and I had our first date this week--Aunt Sarah had a great time playing with the little Katz. Tonight we are trying our first nice restaurant outing with him. Keep your fingers crossed...
