Hogmanay, aka Jan. 1st

So this was our second year to join in Hogmanay. It's a Scottish New Years Day celebration in which we drink and eat and parade down the street from one home, one establishment to the next collecting people and bottles of booze and food along the way. Mostly it's an excuse to keep he New Years ecelbration going. The people are great. Many kilts are worn and this year there were six bagpipers and a drum corp. Good times. Last year we went from noon until nine that evening but this year we only lasted from noon till around three-ish. Great times. The guy in the black cap with me making the "three" sign is Rich. He's been organizing this for the pst ten years. He teaches Gaelic here in Seattle and sings beautifully.

Simon did well. Neither the pipes nor the drums nor the singing bothered him. He slept until things got quiet. A great time was had. We looked forward to it all year and it may have been our last. We introduced a few new people to it so I hope they keep the tradition going.

That's all. Happy New Year all.
