Seattle knows how to throw a parade

One of our last weekends in Seattle and we managed to make it to the Solstice Parade in Freemont, another funky neighborhood next to ours. We walked down with our friends Lisa, Leif and their baby Monte. The parade starts with an onslaught of naked bike riders, most painted in bright colors from head to toe, I would guess maybe up to 200 of them. Good excuse to just git nekid in public. Then the floats come with many half naked and mostly naked people along the way. There's even candy for the kids! All floats have to be man made, no machines/motors, etc. Some very, very cool floats. Hope you enjoy the slide show, it was a memorable parade. A great precursor for our last Seattle Pride parade this coming weekend...how it all started two years ago.

Let's see, Simon get's exposed to crack pipes in Vancouver two weekends ago and now he is accosted by brightly painted naked people on bikes. What kind of parents are we??? I think Simon really enjoyed the parade actually, a feast for the eyes so to speak. Can you see those two bottom teeth?

Just at the very end of the parade, Simon crashed. Amazing that he can still sleep with a lot going on around him (sometimes).

Maybe we'll come back next year to play in the buff.
