There ought to be a federal program...

...giving 3rd trimester pregos in the Texas summer refuge in the Pacific NW. I would be the spokeswoman and this photo would say it all. Yeah, there's the plane ride, but the heat and humidity made my feet explode. They just kept getting bigger and bigger. I had no ankles. By the time we got home my legs were huge too. Within 24 hours though, in the nice, cool, Seattle climate I'm back to normal. It wasn't even 100 degrees miserable.
So 1st pic was from 16 weeks and is what my feet look like now in Seattle and the 2nd pic is after 24 hours in Texas at 32 weeks.

Shower #1--Austin

Sunday we headed to Steve & Donna Katz' who hosted our first official shower. The decorations were adorable, food was fantastic and the turnout was great. I can't believe how many family and friends made it out to be with us, we are truly grateful! In all the excitement I did a very poor job of picture taking or even asking someone else to do that for me, so here are just a few from that afternoon. I don't have any pics of all my cousins who came from Seguin/San Antonio, our wonderful hosts (Grandpa and Grandma Katz --or other TBD name) or Grandpa Doerfler and Cindy (another name TBD), etc. To say we were overwhelmed with everyone's generosity and efforts to be with us would be an understatement.

Mount St. Helen's; oh, and Justin

Two months exactly from today is Ash's Due date. Simon will be in our lives, maybe, and then the fun begins. Yikes. That's the last time I move to Seattle. See what happens. We still have just a crib and a stroller but is there anything else we really have to have?
Our buddy Justin flew in from Austin and spent a few days with us. I got to have a guys night out. On Sunday we drove him to Portland and stopped at Mt. St. Helen on a side trip. It's pretty awesome even through the haze. Not the greatest photos of it but you get the idea. The whole side of the mountain just collapsed and rushed into the valley below, into a lake and pushed all the water 800 feet up the side of another mountain. The ash and debris made a 12 mile column into the sky. It's really cool to see all of the new growth from the past 26 years. Speaking of new growth, we took a 2.5 mile hike and Ash got sweaty so took off her T. I had to sneak the shot and I'm sure she won't be happy this one made the blog but what's she gonna do?
We're in Austin next Saturday. Very excited to see all. It's been 10 months since we last were there. Okay, ciao.
