Week Three (Get a Job Already, Kid!)

So tomorrow Simon turns 3 weeks old. That's three weeks we've been parents and I believe we're getting the hang of it. Ashley is wonderful and I (literally) couldn't do it (have done it)without her. I really mean it and this is Jason writing without her looking over my shoulder. I'm awed by how much love she has for this little crying-pooping-peeing-eating-burping-farting-sleeping creature we brought into this world. I'm floored. She's a wonderful mother and though I knew she'd be, I can't get over it.

Then there's me. I'm doing my best, trying my hardest, and finding it easier at some times than I thought it would be and then at others equally frustrating. I know you're not supposed to shake the baby but is jostling okay? I sing to him (he likes Portuguese Fado music and the James Bond theme) and walk and sway and dance around the house. Ash and I tag team as much as possible but he prefers momma and her breasts (me too, though) over dad and his rough face (touch, not sight).

All in all it's quite wonderful and I can't wait until we have the courage to decide if we want to think about possibly doing it again (by "it" I mean have a baby but ...). He's a swet thing and I love going for walks with him whether in the stroller or the Baby Bjorn. So we've decided to keep him. Good news as we have all this stuff that almost fits him.

Thanks everyone for everything. Ciao.
